Illustrious List of Match Officials for ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Announced
Five umpires, including J Madanagopal of India, will be making their senior men’s events debuts

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced 26 match officials for the first round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Twenty umpires and six match referees will be in charge of officiating the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup.
The 20 umpires have a rich mix of experience and youth, with five umpires making their senior men’s event debuts. The 2023 winner of the David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year, Richard Illingworth, as well as Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney and Paul Reiffel, who were appointed for the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia, are on the illustrious list.
The five umpires who will be making their senior men’s events debuts are Jayaraman Madanagopal (India), Sam Nogajski (Australia), Allahudien Paleker (South Africa), Rashid Riaz (Pakistan) and Asif Yaqoob (Pakistan).
The match referees’ team will see the return of Ranjan Madugalle, who oversaw the 2022 T20 World Cup final. Jeff Crowe, who has officiated 175 T20Is and Andrew Pycroft, who has overseen 149 T20s, are part of the team.
The ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will see 20 teams play 55 matches over 28 days, across nine locations. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 commences in the USA and the West Indies on June 1, with the final scheduled for June 29 in Barbados.
